Crypto Investors Receive Downside Risk Premiums
Victoria Dobrynskaya, Assistant Professor at the HSE Faculty of Economic Sciences, has analysed the price dynamics of 2,000 cryptocurrencies from 2014 to 2021 and investigated the association between downside risks and average returns in the cryptocurrency market. As it turns out, cryptocurrencies exhibiting a greater risk tend to yield higher average returns. The study has been published in International Review of Financial Analysis.
Exploring the Eyes from a Scientific Perspective

Video-oculography holds the key to understanding numerous phenomena related to reading, perception, and language production processes. In December, the Northern Eurasia Regional Contests (NERC)—the semifinal of the ICPC international programming contest—took place. This year’s competition featured around 300 teams comprising 900 participants from Russia and other CIS countries. The contest took place simultaneously in St Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Astana, and Kutaisi. The majority of teams—a total of 152—took part in the competition at St Petersburg’s MTS Live Hall venue.

HSE University Signs First Cooperation Agreement with Chilean University
HSE University and the Adolfo Ibáñez University (UAI) in Chile have signed a letter of intent. The document was signed by Anna Tyshetskaya, Director of HSE University-St Petersburg, and Claudio Osorio, Vice President of UAI's Viña del Mar campus. This is the first agreement between HSE and a Chilean university.
